Induced Lactation Journey

Assalammu'alaikum family, friends, readers and followers of this blog. I know and well aware that I've been blogging about a lot about secret journeys. And this is one of it.

As all would have known, Islamically, an adopted child is a stranger unless I breastfeed the baby, then the baby would be our mahram muabbad.

I read a whole lot about inducing lactation for this purpose. I know it will be a long and difficult journey, but very possible. So, I finally mustered enough courage to ask for a referral. I got one to KKH. Sadly, they rejected me as soon as they knew that I have never been pregnant to full term and never breastfed before. They suggested milk bank which I decline.

I called up NUH for a second opinion. Even after knowing I am never pregnant before and never breastfeed before, they said it could be done. I was scheduled to see Professor Mary Rauff. After knowing that I am a subsidized patient in NUH, they called me up again to inform me that to see Prof, I will be under private and my status as a subsidized patient may change with it. Somehow, they manage to arrange such a way that I will still be subsidized.

This is what I love about NUH, they go extra miles to bring convenience to their patients. And I appreciate it so much.

However, not all their front desk know of such arrangement, much less anything about induce lactation! I was embarrassed and upset to be asked if I had given birth when I wanted to register myself at the counter on the first visit. Everyone was looking at me, or perhaps that is just my feelings.

Anyway, that meeting happened. I was given so much hope! I was to be on birth control pills for 6weeks (to imitate the being pregnant) then to stop suddenly but continuing with Domperine (so hormones are high, but I have my menses - to imitate giving birth). This would hopefully stimulate the milk glands to go to factory mode! In the meantime, I was told to pump my breasts.

The pumping schedule

It was not easy, I had to pump every 3hrs. And the first month yielded nothing, my nipples start to hurt, my body was tired. The only indication I had that it is working is that I felt bloated and had cramps near my armpit if I missed the 3hr mark or is nearing the 3hr mark.

Lactation Consultant

I was assigned to Sister Lim, who was kind and really informative and knowledgeable. She was the one who insisted to help me stick to subsidized route too. I guess she felt my consistency and was so much into it.

My first drop of milk

It was my 2nd appointment with Sister Lim and we had her look at my breasts, and she teaching me how to hand express.. it was then I got my first little single drop of milk. We are on the right track, I just need to keep doing what I am doing. We had our next appointment scheduled when baby arrives or in 3 weeks' time whichever comes earlier.

Baby arrived

So I dropped the BCP and continued with Domperine and pumping. I got my first 0.5ml of milk. Subsequently as days go by, it increased to 1ml, and then to 2.5ml, and after 2weeks I got between 6-10ml each time I pump. Sadly... The baby who had arrived did not end up mine forever. The day baby was discharged, I brought him home, only to have his bio family wanting to think it through the night, and eventually decided not to proceed that very night. Baby was taken away from me the next day. I continued to pump anyway, because I find that it is amazing that my body is achieving this.

I will continue to pump away and keep my milk in the freezer until another baby comes along. My pumping schedule is 6/6.30am, 12.30/1pm, 4.45/5pm, 8pm, 10.30pm. I skipped the middle of the night pump as I needed my sleep, and I will probably only do the middle of the night pump when the next baby comes to me.

Pray for me, pray for a family to come find me when they decided they couldn't care for their baby so I can make baby mine forever.

So until next time,
Jun

My journey to adopt our baby

Assalammu'alaikum family, friends, readers and followers of this blog. I know and well aware that I've been blogging about a lot about secret journeys. And this is one of it.

This plan goes all the way back to March 13th, 2008. Yes, that far back. I had always wanted to adopt a baby.

The first approach

Someone approached us seeking if we would want to adopt this unborn child that was conceived out of wedlock, sometimes in May or June 2018.

Thing is, we (husband and I) have spoken about adopting but nothing concrete. So when this came up, and he turned to me to ask if I want to, I didn't stop to think. I said yes!

We were told it was a girl, and that she is due in August. So we quickly got down to find out about adoption procedure in Singapore.

Pre-adoption Talk

This is compulsory to attend for all adopters no matter what route you chose to take. Since this is a personal arrangement, this is just what it takes before we can make the next step. We took the next available date which falls on Eve of Hari Raya, which was 14th June 2018.

There is no payment required, and your attendance is by that registration and name list only.

You can apply here to find out the dates and register yourselves.

Lawyer

Since this is personal arrangement, we need to engage a lawyer who can do the paperwork and necessary documentation required to complete the adoption process.

We asked a few for quotations and found Mr Baiross the kindest and most approachable to seek help from and his fees were reasonable. We set up a meeting to find out more and sort out any questions we have.

You may contact him here. I find him very respectful and very helpful whenever we encounter any bumps along the way.

Not meant to be

Despite all the trouble we went through and have all of the preparations done and ready, it was not meant to be. I had a bad hunch the day I was informed that her waterbag broke. I had a bad feeling the moment I arrived at the hospital. Yet, I hang on, only to be told that she is an MSF case. For all MSF cases, all adoptive parents-to-be need to undergo a home study report which can be done via various agent scosting from SGD$1500.

We dropped our intention after seeing the baby for a few minutes. We left in despair, but we think it is for the best.

The heartbreak

It was terrible, as much as I accepted that it was not to be, I was really heart broken. Afterall I was excited, and I had sort of make an announcement. I had all the baby stuff all ready! Now I had to put them all away.. It hurts, I cried. At the same time, we knew it was for the better. Perhaps, someone else will come by, and it will be better, and we will be much better prepared.

The next approach

I was contacted via whatsapp sometime in July, merely a week or so after the first failed. Someone said she saw my number and found out I was looking to adopt a baby. I was wary a little. A little afraid, but she jumped in and introduced herself to be the mom of the unborn child, and that this is her 4th baby, and that her family and herself could not afford it and was looking for someone who could. I smiled, and I said okay. I introduced myself, and we set up to meet each other.

We chatted. I kindda liked her the moment I saw her. I find her to be sweet, honest and genuine. I mean really genuine, she went on to tell me about her, her family and her situation. I empathized with her and assured her that her baby will be loved by me, my husband and my family. I showed her all the things that will be waiting for the baby.

The gender reveal

I got more confident because this mommy is inviting me to accompany her for the gender scan. She was 27weeks pregnant at that point. And we saw it oh so clearly, I was so excited and happy. My husband more happy!

We kept in touch, and I helped her keep track of her gestational age. Right to the end... She texted me when she was 33weeks claiming she had leaked but unsure if it was the waterbag, I calmed her down and asked her to breathe and time the contraction and frequency. Turns out it is just Braxton Hicks. And she thanked me for being there for her.

She continue to update me every week since, claiming that she is beginning to be really tired, and asked if we really have everything ready.

We picked a name even!

Contractions

It started on 1st October, when Mommy was 36 weeks exactly. It was 10-15mins apart, so Mommy said to wait it out.

It went to 5mins apart that night, but still Mommy wants to wait till 4th October. 5th morning, it got more intense briefly, then got back to 10-15mins intervals, then on 6th, no more contractions.

Honestly, I am panicking, nervous and scared. Flashbacks of previous heartbreak replayed before my eyes. I got really scared. What if... History repeats... I am not sure.

The day my baby is born

23rd October, he was born at 39weeks 1day gestation. Weighing 2.625kg, at 0434hrs. My heart swelled with so much love when I first saw and carried him. All was well.. Bio mom was happy and keeping to what was agreed. He was discharged on 25th October 2018. Bio mom went to ICA to make his birthcert, and we were scheduled to meet at the lawyer's office. Suddenly, Bio grandma got into the picture.

Another heartbreak

Bio mom claims that bio grandma finds out and that she needed time to think. So right there in the lawyer office, we wasted about an hour with no conclusion. She said she would come back to the lawyer office to decide the next day. Baby is still with me, at my house with me. Co-sleeping and everything. I hold back my intention to lactate the baby due to this. Came 26th October, I sent baby to polyclinic for his first checkup. That afternoon, she said she don't want to proceed because bio grandma opposed. Pfft. Devastated I was. It killed a little bit of me. It killed everyone in my house that night.

My darling M was torn apart. Her dreams of having a sibling, torn. My hopes to have my forever child, broken to tiny pieces. My mom, cried and broke. My husband, the strongest of us all, broke too.

27th October came, his appointment at poly was 11am. His bio mom and fiance (who clearly wasn't the baby's father, by the way!) arrived at 12noon, or slightly after. I was holding the baby I kept calling mine, kissing him, and hoping so hard he would be mine... but he wasn't meant to be.

Perhaps another baby with a more greater heart will come for me, perhaps I would even carry my own one day. Perhaps good things are just out there requiring a few heartbreaks and lots of patience. Who knows? Who knows?

In meantime, let me heal my broken heart and self. I shall perhaps take a bit of a break. This itself took me 2 weeks before I decide to publish for all to read. I am releasing my induced lactation journey as well, maybe in a few short minutes after this one.

Until next time,
Jun

A month passed.. I lost track

Assalammu'alaikum family, friends, readers and followers of this blog. I have lost track of all the time that has slipped passed, and I am sorry. Let me just fill it up as much as I can remember on hand ok...

Since 22nd July, a few public holidays, some rest days and a few good news along the way.. That would be the summary really.

But in this one month, I have discovered many little things that annoys me as much as it enlightens me.

What annoys me is that despite being in the field in which lifelong learning is important and how being professional has to be top notch, there are still people who couldn't adhere to these little basics.

Yes, I am new in this line, but having been in the corporate world working my ass off, these two things is not new. So, when I did this switch, I did have high expectations on what the "senior" or more "experienced" are to behave and "guide" me. I was rather disappointed when some of these people tell me things like "no need to say/do so much, later all must do extra work". Ermm, I guess they forget who the stakeholders are. Fine, but to tell me "I don't want/need to go for upgrade courses, I know everything" is so much off my plate. I cannot accept this statement.

Well, the good news is, something new is coming into the scene, and I hope they can weed these people out.

That said, I have a lot lot lot of secret journey which I cant wait to share, but cant due to the nature of the news. Knowing me, this is sort of killing me, which is probably why I refrain myself from updating too frequently, so perhaps you wont hear from me so soon after this is published. At least until I can talk about my journey(s).

I need to log off now and retire to sleepland now. Send me a little prayer that all goes well for me and my family. May everyone of you achieve all your goals too! Thank you for hanging on to read about my life.

Until my next entry,
Jun

26th & 27th week of 2018

Assalammu'alaikum family, friends, readers and followers of this blog. I am back for a 2 weeks update for 9th July through 22nd July 2018.

This short 2 weeks in filled with many tests for me.. I caught some bug which left me low grade fever with cough on Monday 16th. It didn't get any better, instead my fever shot up to 38.8 on Wednesday. It remained high through Friday hovering between 37.6-38.4. I went back to the clinic on Friday, got X-ray and blood test done.

Results came through I had lung infection and was given a high dosage antibiotics to hopefully get it all sorted. I had to return to see the Dr in one week's time. During that period, my supposedly  happiest day turned sour...

Noone understood the pain behind my smiles... Noone gets my pain behind all love I showered. They just don't... I really need to love myself. My heart felt so much pain... Misunderstood a million times over.

Your intention was great, to give me that opportunity. But sadly, it hurt me instead. I have my reasons.

It is okay.. May time heal us all.

Until next entry,
Jun

22nd week - 25th week of 2018

Assalammu'alaikum family, friends, readers and followers of this blog. Honestly, I cant keep up updating every 2 weeks, so I would just resume to update on a once a month basis hereon, and this, this is for 9th June through 8th July 2018.

So.. what has happened? Let's see... As mentioned before, I had a secret journey which I said I will share next year. Thing is, I have a second secret journey going on and that too, I can only share next year. Now what? With my career in the hush hush, with the journeys I am going through also on a hush hush.. What is there to share, really?

Nothing much, sadly. Well there is Syawal. We didn't celebrate it that well or much, except just creating excuses to just gather, my sisters and me, and my mom. Just bonding and spending time. We visited all the important people and we are basically done on Day 3. With work, school and all the journeys, we are truly exhausted..

I haven't been so drained to the extent of early nights, as early as 8.30pm until I had to work and study everyday. The latest I stayed up was probably 9.30pm on weekdays, and 10.30pm on weekend. I really couldnt keep my eyes open, and if they are, my brain had shut down by 10pm. It really has... I just can't..

I decline many orders, I took only one, that too, due end September. Yes, I think I really need 2months to complete 8 bibs. THAT is really how unproductive I have become of late business wise. I can hardly function more than just having myself to work and school.

And to make things far more interesting, I got interested to continue schooling after I finish this course, and that course is 30months long. I must have been crazy.. Good kindda crazy, I guess.

I just seem to enjoy having my brains fried like this, maybe.

One of my cousins got hitched on 8th July. Nothing much really. I hardly move. I was too drained to think or do anything. And that sort of sum up the month.

I hope there are something more interesting to post about next month, but I doubt there will be..

Anyway, half the year had passed by, what have you achieved?

For me, I'd say I had done the following:

Left my great job and boss of 5yrs5mths to be unemployed
Survive being unemployed for 2months
Joined a new industry, with just a third of my last drawn salary
Juggled work+school
Survive Secret Journey 1 although it was a failed mission
Going through Secret Journey 2 and happy so far

I hope more achievements are checked end this year. Amen!

Until my next boring entry,
Jun

18th,19th, 20th & 21st Week of 2018

Assalammu'alaikum family, friends, readers and followers of this blog. Writing 2 weeks once is pretty challenging in its own way. So here's a 4weeks update for 11th May through 8th June 2018.

How quickly time past it is already into the 2nd week of June! Which is why this is a 4weeks special...

Life has been busy since I start the new work, evening classes and then fasting... Yes Ramadhan Ya Kareem!

I did a personality test recently, wasn't my first time, but I am always so surprised with the results and how on point the write up can be for me..

Do yours here: Personality Test
When doing the test answer immediately, do not overthink about the questions. The first answer in your mind should be the answer.

Mine is a rare combination, a personality which is often prominent in Engineers and the likes. I guess the Engineer in me still resides strong in me.. It say only 2% of the world population has this personality and out of the 2%, only 4% are women. So yep, I am unique af. I read about my personality many times from many other sources, and find that I am really like that since forever.. It is perhaps who I really am.. I love her then, and I love her now.

In personal update, I really don't have much that I can share at the moment. But I'd probably do a "Journey Blog" next year onward. Until then, I think there won't be much personal updates other than general things like these.

On Baby M, her mom had withdrawn her from school, last day of her school would be 29th June. I don't know how the future will be like, except that I wont be seeing her much until she gets a school near my area. I will miss her tremendously - needless to say.

I spoke to my lecturer about the dilemma I had with Baby M situation. She offered her warmest hug... I guess I can just try be in her life as long as I can, to provide her the support she needed. The future with me and her in it is rather blur at the moment, but I will do my best - that much I know.

I have been out of the house at 6.40am and only home after 9pm for 3 weeks and it felt like forever! I am always sleep and energy deprived. Body had broken down twice in this period, but sleep was all it take to provide me the boost to last another week or two. So that is a major improvement on my health. Immune seems to be better, alhamdulillah.

This year, as foreseen, I wont be giving out any duit raya for the kids. Finances are super tight this time round, but I know it will get better. Just like how I adjusted to the finances when I was unemployed, I will adjust to the finances with what I have right now, and make it meet the fullest possible, insyaAllah.

Many good things are coming in future, and I am looking forward to the adventure that will greet me. May I always be blessed with patience, love and happiness... Aamin!

Till the next entry,
Jun

16th & 17th Week of 2018

Assalammu'alaikum family, friends, readers and followers of this blog. Indeed, it is so much tougher to keep up when you are no longer in the office, I often see 3 weeks fly in a blink of an eye! And this keeps happening!! I need help!!

So here's a little entry for 26th April through 10th May 2018.

26th, Mom was scheduled for the operation to remove the huge gall stone near her pancreas. A long wait it was. Her op was scheduled at 8.30am, and I only received a call with an update close to noon. Her vitals weren't too good, so she had to be observed in the post op ward until her vitals are more stable.

We were shown the gall stone, indeed it was huge, the size of an adult thumb!

Huge, isn't it?

The kids are all at my place on 27th through 29th.. The house was lonely on 30th when all three were gone.

It was too quick... it is already time to start my class and resume working. The first day of class was ok. We were just briefed again about our 1st assignment, and had to tell 1 interesting about ourselves as an ice breaker session. Interestingly enough, about half the class are career switchers!

A few graphic designers, a prison officer, a chef... Interesting isn't it? What I told the class about me? The only thing in my head is that I sew my own clothes because I was wearing my me-made clothes inside out, top to bottom. I edited a bit of one of my video and labelled it all and arranged it all according to how the lecturer wants it.

5th May, we celebrated my brother-in-law's birthday at Gurame @ Changi.

So, on days I don't have class, I am to work permanent morning shift, from 7am to 4.30pm, and on days I have class, I would be on half day, from 7am to 12noon.

Had class again on 9th and 10th. I ended up enjoying my group members. Thankfully, I got less kanchiong spiders, maybe just one blur sotong la. At least the rest are just chill kacang people, so that is great.

I discovered multiple ways to go home from there via public. In fact, that left my bike unridden for almost 2 weeks, I think. Oh well..

Oh the kids had been a darling. 2 of them are really attached to me, often finding all ways to get my attention as much as they can.

Until the next entry,
Jun

14th & 15th Week of 2018

Assalammu'alaikum family, friends, readers and followers of this blog. Indeed, it is so much tougher to keep up when you are no longer in the office, I often see 3 weeks fly in a blink of an eye! And this keeps happening!! I need help!!

So here's a little entry for 11th April through 25th April 2018.

I was suppose to do a video assignment on 11th but centre was closed due to the outbreak, so I had mine postponed to 18th. My secret journey begins and for that I shall write later down the years when I am strong enough to write about it.

My husband began his part time school on 16th. And on 24th Mom was down with bad cramping followed by fever.. Which subsequently ends up with hospital emergency which require surgery asap, and was quickly scheduled for 25th.

Yep. This two weeks is a really short entry.. I am left with just a week of being unemployed, and I will need to prep myself to resume working life..

If anything, I shall just write about my life as an unemployed over the past two months, and the reflection I had so far.

I realized how much home makers struggle to make the money enough. To somehow earn whatever little they can to call it their own to help pay bills or just to buy that dish she had wanted for a long time. I dont mind the neverending chores and the empty wall I stare when I wondered what to cook for the day.. I just struggled with the financial bit, after more than 10 yrs of having my own salary to spend, it was indeed a big struggle to depend on the husband for every little purchases you want to make.

However hard it was, I am still hoping to settle down being a home maker in 5-7 years down the road, I find more joy being at home doing what I like and enjoy without the pressure of keeping my bosses or colleagues happy. I only had myself to answer to. It was stressful, indeed, but I still find more joy despite the lack of money to spend.

Oh I had A & H back in my crib, I am so blessed to care easy kids, really. Which makes me wish adoption fees in Sg can be cheaper. Anyhoos.. I guess I will just end it short this time. I guess people are just on the edge if they find out what my new job is. It doesn't pay that much money wise, but I feel it is more rewarding and it is my choice. I could have stayed in my old field and earn 3 folds, but i choose to be in this new field where it pays me a third of what I am used to, it will surely be a big struggle. InsyaAllah with the blessing of my mother and husband, I will strive and step up stronger, better and more humble.

Until my next entry,
Jun

12th & 13th Week of 2018

Assalammu'alaikum family, friends, readers and followers of this blog. Indeed, it is so much tougher to keep up when you are no longer in the office, I often see 3 weeks fly in a blink of an eye!

So here's a little entry for 27th March through 10th April 2018.

Nothing exciting happen these few weeks, so I shall just input my one day relief job at JW4 as the highlight. I had to cover an infant class early April. It was an eye opener really, I bear a solid 6-7hrs of solid crying. And somehow this prolong crying in my ear made me so tired. I guess me being a new face made the poor babies worried. LOL!

My video assignment date had to be postponed as well due to the HFMD outbreak at the centre. Oh poor children, may they all heal fast and well soon!

Another highlight is that I had gained 1" all around and 2" on my hips. I sewn 5 tops and 2 pants for myself in this 2 weeks. Much needed for the new job I guess. and oh a maxi dress and cardigan as well.

Here is the Be Amazing Maxi Dress from Ellie & Mac

Crossed Hem Tee from Winter Wear Designs

I never realised I had gained sizes and inches. Heh.

The Coffee Cardigan (Long) from Annelaine Patterns

Moon Wide Leg Pants from Sinclair Patterns

The Sienna from Sinclair Patterns

Another Sienna from Sinclair Patterns

So yes. I have been busy sewing for my selfish self this 2 weeks. I will be testing a pattern next week, so I think that will be the write up for the next entry eh.

I guess that is all for a boring me this last two weeks. May the week be more exciting than previous!

Until I blog again,

10th & 11th Week of 2018

Assalammu'alaikum family, friends, readers and followers of this blog. Indeed, it is so much tougher to keep up when you are no longer in the office, I often see 3 weeks fly in a blink of an eye!

So here's a little entry for 13th March through 26th March 2018.

12th March I send my little bub to school, then had an appointment at NUH for my lungs. I was happily discharged on a good note. An open date appointment for the next year, before my file get an official closure. My bronchietasis is still there, it is afterall a permanent and non-reversible damage done to my lungs, but over the few years, it has been stable, so the doctor is happy with my progress so far. She do asked me to keep a close watch on any breathlessness, chest pains, and if there is a fever hike that accompanies those symptoms.

I am excited to begin my treatment coming April, more about it when I get that sorted properly. I fetch my bub today, and yes she will be with me till the 15th morning! And she will be back with me on 16th evening! Yeayness!

Nothing much else happened that week except for a laptop sleeve order with personalization done, along with another and some sanitizer holders for Young Living Thieves Sanitizers that need some working on.

I also got orders for cardholders for a farewell gift, I managed to get done completed right on time and passed it on to the customer who happened to be living in the next neighbourhood across the road.

No automatic alt text available.

These cardholders makes really good farewell gifts for soon-to-be former colleagues!

This unicorn laptop sleeve was delivered on 15th March.

No automatic alt text available.

And before I knew it, it is time to fetch my bub again! 16th March, feels so good to have her back, this time she will be with me till 20th March morning and back with me on 22nd March evening.

That weekend, my sister took her out while husband and I head home to finish up some of our backlog work. Boy, the house was weird without her around!

Here are some work that I got done this 2 weeks!

8th & 9th Week of 2018

Assalammu'alaikum family, friends, readers and followers of this blog. Writing 2 weeks once is pretty challenging in its own way, and tougher when I am no longer working in the office! So here's a little entry for 27th Feb through 12th March 2018.

As mentioned in my previous entry... I arrived closer to my last day of work, my bossed planned out a farewell lunch at a fancy place at Teluk Ayer. I was nervous towards the end of lunch, and as they started asking about my next step, what company I am joining and what industry, I get terribly nervous, so I handed out my farewell gift. That got them occupied till it is time to head back to the office.

Colleagues bugged me to tell, so I told them. And they all wished me well. I am sure to miss them when I am no longer there! I drafted my last email to each of them wishing them all the best and all, in a hurry I must have forgotten to change some names.

My last day was rather like a drift in the wind. Awkward goodbyes.. And as soon as one of my favourite boy came back in the office, he took out a huge envelope and said his last wishes, the farewell card from everyone. My heart swelled. Boy I am so blessed to be in this company. I felt so heavy and all so excused myself to leave early grabbing all I can into my bag and just like that, I left. 5 years and 5 months. I know for sure I wont get a better boss than I had now. No better colleagues who minded their own personal businesses and keep it casual. I will miss them, but I needed to get out and live the life I wanted, to pursue a field and industry I had always wanted.

It has been 2 weeks, yes, I havent written in the interim. It didnt hit me that I am unemployed, right to date... Maybe because I kept myself very busy. It helps that I have a side business that needs to keep running... 1st March I altered a laptop sleeve for one of my customer who is my niece's cousin. I then picked Baby M up. The next day I had a counselling with my husband and we decided to proceed with what needed to get done.

That weekend we visited my in laws. And on 5th I attempted to be productive, but I ended up just sitting back watching Netflix and did nothing much other than just that. 6th & 7th March was my trial time at HF. I had a good time really and was looking forward to a more concrete agreement.

9th March I accompanied my mom for her therapy, head home cook, and pick Baby M for her assessment at NUS. Interesting really. All is positive good, alhamdulillah.

11th March we went to Stadium to participate in the STEPS challenge, too bad I left my phone at home, so I could only walk around and watch husband get busy. Heh.

12th March, my last follow up on my lungs, Dr was pleased with my progress and weight gain, so she discharge me with an open date with many well wishes.

Oh did I mention, Baby M was with me from 7th March right till 15th! Yeah! She had fun, didnt miss school! Yeay!

So ya that's all that had happend in the last two weeks! May I keep up writing this for the many weeks to come! :p

Till the next entry!

6th and 7th week of 2018

Assalammu'alaikum family, friends, readers and followers of this blog. Writing 2 weeks once is pretty challenging in its own way. So here's a little entry for 12th Feb through 26th Feb 2018.

We had CNY Celebrations on Thursday. And me being me, I was totally not up to sew Qipao so I got one custom made for my girl to wear instead.

Isnt that so cute??

We then went to join my sister in Sentosa for a quiet BBQ: Lack of pictures doesnt mean lack of bonding happening. We were just busy talking and catching up.

I then got busy with work!

I made this pouch with the remnants! So super cute!!

When the long CNY weekend is over, I am left with just over a week before my last day of service to my company ends. The countdown begins! Seriously, I have zero mood to get anything done...

I keep falling sick too, almost like allergic to go to work... I ended up staying so late at night dragging myself to sleep to wake up for working the next day kindda.

On those nights, these were born:

All I could think of is a new table and printer for home and to get busy printing, sewing and stitching! And more videos! Hopefully more sponsorship as well!

Now. 26th, end of week 7, and 2 more days before I am unemployed!

Until the next update,

5th and 6th week of 2018

Assalammu'alaikum family, friends, readers and followers of this blog. Writing 2 weeks once is pretty challenging in its own way. So here's a little entry for 29th Jan through 11th Feb 2018.

I have Baby M all week from last Thursday (25th Jan) till Friday (2nd Feb) on her Birthday. Sadly, I cant be there to celebrate with her, so I will just drop her off at school along with goody bags for her to give out.

Goody Bags

Following the school's instructions to omit food items, we made these drawstrings bags personalised with their names and put in some stationaries:

I also made a little something for the teachers for being such an awesome sport.

Making something for 34 children and 10 teachers (incl Janitor and Cook) had been a pleasant experience. I hope they all enjoy and love the gifts.

Family BBQ

3rd Feb 2018. We had our pits and tent permit sort out. We got our stuffs planned out to buy and make, and now here comes the day!

We had with us what looked like an apocalypse strike us. It looks like we had what we could use to survive for a month minus plenty of clothes change.

We've got full squad this time, and it was a great time well spent! All the kids mingling and talking, the adults reminiscing our old times.. I miss us, so much!

Enjoy some pictures:
